The Academy of Plastic Surgery and its members supported the celebration of the public health campaign BRA Day (Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day), which has been held in the Republic of Croatia since 2014.
“With this campaign, we want to make women aware of the importance of preserving healthy breasts, point out the necessity of going to regular preventive breast examinations, and educate all those women who will need to have their breasts removed due to cancer or those who have already had their breasts removed, that they can reconstruct them using one of the many surgical techniques performed by plastic and reconstructive surgeons. And how important this procedure is for patient satisfaction was best shown by the many patients who shared their stories and thereby encouraged and encouraged all those women who, unfortunately, will be faced with a diagnosis of breast cancer”
said the initiator of Breast Day & BRA Day in Croatia and member of the Academy of Plastic Surgery, associate professor Ph.D. Domagoj Eljuga, specialist in general surgery, subspecialist in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.
